The rare mineral, coltan, is a key component in the production of electric car batteries, mobile phones, and other electronic devices.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) holds over 70% of the world’s coltan reserves, which have fueled violent conflict in the eastern region for decades.
While the size of Kenya’s coltan deposits remains unclear, Kenya’s Minister for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, Salim Mvurya, confirmed that the country officially has coltan reserves. Though previous mining reports suggested traces of the valuable ore, this announcement solidifies Kenya’s entry into the coltan industry.
Deposits have been discovered in six counties across the nation, though their total value is yet to be determined.
We also have trusted miners in the DRC. After conducting thorough research, we’ve established strong relationships with local miners, and all necessary documentation, including shipping arrangements to any global destination, is in place. You can place your order through us, or we can arrange for you to visit and meet the miners in person.
